F.A.Q.

Have any Question?

What is a mold inspection, and why is it important?

A mold inspection is a thorough assessment of your property to identify the presence of mold, moisture issues, or conditions that could lead to mold growth. It’s important because mold can cause significant health issues, including respiratory problems and allergic reactions, and can damage the structure of your property. Early detection helps prevent further damage and ensures a safer living or working environment.

What does a typical mold inspection include?

A typical mold inspection includes a visual assessment of your property, focusing on areas prone to moisture, such as basements, bathrooms, attics, and around plumbing. We also use specialized equipment like moisture meters and thermal cameras to detect hidden mold or damp areas. If needed, we may take air or surface samples to confirm the type and concentration of mold present. A detailed report with findings and recommendations is provided.

How long does a mold inspection take?

The duration of a mold inspection depends on the size of your property and the complexity of the situation. On average, a standard inspection can take between 1-3 hours. Larger properties or homes with extensive water damage may take longer. After the inspection, you’ll receive a detailed report with our findings and next steps, typically within 24-48 hours.

How do I know if I need a mold inspection?

You may need a mold inspection if you notice visible mold growth, musty odors, water damage, or signs of past leaks. Additionally, if you’ve recently experienced flooding or high humidity, or if you have respiratory symptoms like coughing, sneezing, or headaches that worsen indoors, it’s a good idea to schedule an inspection. Even if no signs are visible, regular inspections can help catch hidden mold problems early.

Will my insurance cover mold inspection and remediation?

Insurance coverage for mold inspections and remediation varies by policy and provider. Generally, most homeowners’ insurance policies do not cover mold removal unless the mold was caused by a covered event, such as a burst pipe. However, many policies may cover the cost of the inspection if it’s related to a covered water damage event. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to understand what your policy includes regarding mold.

What happens if mold is found during the inspection?

If mold is found during the inspection, we will provide a detailed report outlining the extent of the mold growth and the recommended course of action. This may include mold remediation to remove the mold, identify and fix the source of moisture, and implement preventative measures to stop future mold growth. We also provide guidance on the next steps to ensure your property is restored to a safe condition.
